Witness the Historic RAF100 Formation with This Augmented Reality App
The free RAF100 Flypast app enables people to see the flypast in a realistic 3D rendering of the event to be held on the 10th of July.
Now you can witness the historic RAF 100 formation flypast from the ease of your home, thanks to an all-new augmented reality app named RAF100 AR Flypast made to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Royal Air Force.
The free RAF100 Flypast app enables people who are not in London for the annual event to see the flypast in a realistic 3D rendering of the event, to be held on the 10th of July.
Be it the F35 Lightning, the iconic Spitfire or the Sopwith Camel users can collect 35 different types of aircraft and capture images as they fly. The planes can be used to create your own flyby, which can be seen at any time and place along with the visualization of the entire fleet as it flies over the Buckingham Palace next Tuesday.
The aircraft are going to be available in parts in the upcoming RAF100 Aircraft Tour, which is going to display iconic aircraft publicly. The app is also meant to promote the said tour that will be held across various cities in the United Kingdom from July to September and will mark the hundredth anniversary. You can even participate in a competition to find the best images and videos of the flypast by using the hashtag #RAF100.
“The RAF100 Flypast App allows users to see the historic formation flypast over Buckingham Palace in the comfort of your garden, at school or even in your front room. Users will be able to find out about the history of each plane through the App, as well as being able to create and collect their own planes.” says Air Commodore Chris Jones
The App is intended to be a display of RAF’s use of innovation and technology in a way that is entertaining and is all set to inspire the next generation of aerospace pioneers.
The app is available on both Apple and Google app stores and oversees the adoption of the technology on a national scale. It is exciting for both the techie and the aircraft enthusiast. This has significant implications for governments adapting to the technology led times despite being a simple app.
