Porsche, the well-known sports car manufacturer, has collaborated with the startup “Holoride” to unveil an all-new VR entertainment for the back-seat passengers of cars. This collaboration has been put together with the aim of offering passengers an immersive VR experience on the go.

To this effect, the vehicle is connected with VR headsets that come with sensors so that the content that we watch can be adapted and modified according to the driving movements of the car in real-time.

This is a very cool technology that has been designed to give passengers a full experience. Say, the driver turns the vehicle along a curve. The passengers in the back-seat will also turn in real-time if they are riding in a spacecraft, for instance.

This means that they will virtually experience the turn in the VR world too.

The CEO of Holoride is enthused about this new development and shares, “We are grateful to Startup Autobahn for the many opportunities and contacts it has made possible for us. This has given our projects a major boost in recent weeks, enabling us to realize a prototype in just 100 days.”

This is a super immersive experience and hence, can also help individuals who suffer from motion sickness. This technology can also be employed in the entertainment sector, such as virtual conferences and films to increase the productivity and entertainment quotient for passengers traveling in the back-seat.

The “Holoride” software is also extremely futuristic as it can offer elastic content, which is a novel media form that can be used in cars. This content can adapt to the behavior of the vehicle, such as its motion, context, and driving time.

The purpose of the startup is to introduce this brand-new form of entertainment to users of VR headsets to be used while traveling in the rear seats of vehicles. This technology is expected to hit the market in the coming three years.

Overall, it is a promising development in the future of VR that promises not just to show passengers a good time but also result in new applications as well as innovation in the future.
