Rated 8.8/10 on IMDb and 86% on Rotten Tomatoes, it is definitely one of the most popular western TV series in America. Good news for the fans, HBO has decided to launch a VR game named “Westworld Awakening” to offer an unmatchable gaming experience to the users.
The game developer startup Survios have partnered with Kilter Films to run this VR game. Produced and launched by HBO, it promises to offer users an immersive experience like never before. As a user, you can be the host Kate, who must learn how to survive in a world where she is a victim.
The main difference between Westworld Awakening and other VR games is that this one offers a unique mechanic movement where gamers can swing their arms at their sides to sprint or jog at the same speed at which their arms are moving. This method is precisely why the game is termed as Westworld Awakening because users can explore a 3D space and be self-aware of their surroundings as if they are experiencing it all first-hand.
The storyline of Westworld Awakening consists of five chapters taken from the second season of Westworld. Oculus Store, Steam and Viveport are releasing Westworld Awakening on August 20th. You can buy them for $29.99.
According to Daniel Zeligman, the Project Lead at Survios, “It’s a very dense, high fidelity world.” Colin Foran, the Creative Lead at HBO, added, “We are not just showing you an episode of ‘Westworld’ in a VR headset.”
This leads us to believe that the game will be action-packed full of new experiences. Foran also shared that the average time to finish playing the game is anywhere between four and six hours. So, it totally depends on the gamers and their fancy.
