Microsoft Garage Releases A Powerful Mixed Reality Experience
Microsoft Garage launched Maps SDK to offer the users of Garage project Outings and travel mobile apps an all-new and powerful mixed reality experience. This Microsoft Garage project has been designed to allow developers throughout the world to incorporate amazing 3D world data into mixed reality experiences. This novel creation in the form of Maps SDK promises a multitude of developer-friendly controls that enable creators and developers to come up with innovative MR experiences.
Using this innovative creation is easy. All that is needed for the developers to do is build a unique map by dragging the map control into a particular Unity scene. This map will come with a configurable city and 3D terrain. In addition to that, it will also feature location labels that will be sourced from Bing Maps. After that, developers can go all out and explore built-in zooming, panning as well as navigation tools.
Maps SDK is definitely a novel concept and helps creators to design canvas to illustrate their content in interesting and unique ways. Irrespective of whether developers want to layer in custom 3D terrain, geo-anchored content or data visualizations, they can all benefit from this platform as it gives them a much-needed head start and at the end, they do not have to spend as much time focusing on the basics. As a result, they can unleash their creative side and bring an out of the box MR map experience to life for the users.
This is definitely a new and improved release by Microsoft, clearly showcasing that the road to innovation becomes easier with multiple minds at it. As shared by Brian Kircher, a member of the Maps SDK team, “We are constantly thinking about the intersection between maps and new mediums. We not only wanted to empower MR developers but also inspire them.” This innovation in the field of Mixed Reality is a breakthrough for developers as it gives them a platform to put their creative hat on and deliver exciting and new Mixed Reality experiences to the users worldwide.
