Google, the search giant has just made navigating directions much more convenient and fun to use by introducing the cute augmented reality in Google Maps with cute fox for direction. The developers of the company had been working on the idea for quite a long time and have finally introduced this new augmented reality feature to help people reach their destinations using Google maps.

What users might like about this new feature is that it uses the camera of your smartphone to give you directions or to tell users which way to go. The company has also added an excitable fox in the form of a “helpful guide”, but it is still unclear if Google will add this feature to Maps.

Google also showcased this Augmented reality functionality in I/O 2018 conference held on Tuesday. As per the demo showed by the Aparna Chennapragada, the Vice President of Google, the path will lit with arrows that will go green when users will require changing the directions. Not only this, the feature will also show users all the nearby places like restaurants, bars, etc.

“You instantly know where you are,” Chennapragada said. “No fussing with the phone. The street names, the directions, right there in front of you.”

She also mentioned that the company was thinking about adding a helpful guide to make it easier for people to navigate direction and so they added this excitable fox for fun.

But the Vice president has still not made it clear if this was just an experiment or Company is really going to add this feature to help the users in navigating directions. But the demo video has achieved accolades from all the delegates present in the conference.

It is believed that this new feature introduced by Google will now make walking in directions much safer and less confusing for users than before. It will also prevent distracted walking as phone-glued pedestrians will now be able to see the contents using their phone’s screen while moving out anywhere. The feature will also make them walk and talk while keeping an eye on everything on their way ahead through their smartphone camera.
