The Mirage Solo VR Headset of Lenovo has now become even more magical, thanks to Google’s VR Motion Controllers that it has introduced for the Mirage headset. This marriage of the Daydream VR headset with Mirage Solo lends users an immersive virtual reality experience which is second to none. Now, you don’t need a smartphone or separate PC anymore to function this headset. Users can easily deploy the powerful technology of WorldSense™ introduced by Google to move, lean, duck, avoid obstacles, dodge and move smoothly and effortlessly through the never-ending and all-pervasive archive of the virtual worlds.

The standout thing about these motion controllers is 6DoF or in layman’s terms, six degrees of freedom. Thanks to this feature, these headsets allow users to navigate through the virtual environment in a bit more realistic manner while you can fully immerse yourself in your favorite virtual world. In addition to that, the motion controllers assist you in keeping track of your whereabouts and movements according to how your hands are placed.

Another feature that makes these headsets stand apart from the crowd of virtual reality headsets out there is the inside-out tracking. This tracking implies that thanks to the cameras and sensors that the headset contains, your external environment can easily be monitored while you skillfully and efficiently navigate through the immersive virtual reality environment of your preferred VR world.

Google claims that this device has the ability to lend a user a high-quality and unmatched VR experience. In the words of Google’s AR and VR division’s Senior Product Manager, Jonathan Huang, “Instead of using expensive external cameras and sensors that have to be carefully calibrated, our system uses machine learning and off-the-shelf parts to estimate the 3D position and orientation of the controllers accurately. We’re excited about this approach because it can reduce the need for expensive hardware and make 6DoF experiences more accessible to more people.”

This new introduction to the world of virtual reality is indeed a feat for Google. The future of Virtual Reality has, without a shadow of a doubt, arrived and it is Mirage Solo!
