Virtual Reality (VR) has permeated all kinds of industries and has made its presence known far and wide. Now, in a new development, VR has demonstrated its application in the dairy industry in Russia.
According to recent news, VR Glasses are being used on Russian cows to calm them enough to increase the production of milk. These VR Glasses offer cows sun-filled views of green pastures and other pleasant summer environs.
As ridiculous as the vision in your head of cows wearing VR Glasses might seem, researchers believe that the idea behind this introduction might actually end up working better than anyone has imagined. These VR Glasses are being fitted on cows on a farm located near Moscow, where the new prototype of VR glasses is being altered enough to ensure it can be worn comfortably by cows.
These VR Glasses have been designed carefully and ingeniously through years of experience and research to integrate technology with the farming industry for dairy solutions. Milk production has been a pressing need in recent times, and this issue prompted IT experts to work together in a bid to find a viable solution to help increase the production of milk.
How it works is that the farm cows are fitted with these cutting-edge VR glasses and shown serene pastures as part of a simulation program. The program is created in shades of red with blue and weaker green tones to help the cows relax and alter their moods. This entire research takes the emotional state of cows into account to help with higher and better quality production of milk.
The study showed definite results, and researchers deduced that thanks to the VR Glasses, the farm cows seemed much more relaxed and free of anxiety. Therefore, it led to enhancing the overall mood and contentment levels of the herd.
In this regard, some countries have already attempted classical music and robotic brushes massaging cattle to keep them happy and calm. Surprisingly, the idea of VR Glasses on cows does not sound insane or far-fetched anymore!
