ROVIO Unveils New AR Version of Angry Birds Game

Remember your favorite game that used to be on the top priority list of video games, a few years back? Yes, you guessed it right, we are talking about the tiny and ferocious Angry birds, that used to be most preferred past time for lots of people around the globe.

And guess what, those fierce birds are all set to make a grand entry again in their brand new Augmented Reality version.

In the Game Developers Conference which was recently held in San Francisco, Rovio Entertainment (ROVIO) and Resolution Games unveiled their collaborative upcoming project on the mobile augmented reality (AR) game. This fresh and upgraded version of Angry Birds is titled Angry Birds : Isle of Pigs and will be launched with 40 level of gameplay. The new AR version is only available for the iPhone users for now and is available for pre-order on the App Store for iPhone 6s and later, all iPad Pro models, iPad 5th generation and iPad 6th generation, and the new iPad Air and iPad mini.

The new game will allow the fans of Angry Birds to explore the enticing power of the chirpy birds mixed with the classic piggy towers that will be present in the user’s own environment. The augmented reality incorporation in the game is done through the aid of Apple’s ARKit and allows the players to experience the power of the angry birds like never before.

According to the CEO of ROVIO Entertainment, Kati Levoranta, the Rovio team is delighted to bring the physics-based gameplay to life through Augmented Reality. She further added that it is the perfect time to bring the avian friends to life through AR for the first time as 2019 marks the tenth anniversary of the first release of the Angry Birds game.

This game evokes the core of what makes AR gameplay truly AR. With its engaging characters, classic Angry Birds slingshot gameplay and ability to move around the structures, it utilizes the unique elements of Apple’s ARKit and showcases what AR gameplay is capable of, which is pretty amazing when you see it come to life.
