More Devices to Officially Taste the Google’s new ARCore!

The ARCore 1.0 is now available for all Google's Pixel phones and many other devices running on Oreo.

As the trend of augmented reality is on the rise, every tech giant sooner or later is trying to lead the game. Not much time passed when Apple had released their ARKit for developers all around the world, and now it’s Google!

Recently Google’s very own augmented reality system ARCore  1.0 has been made available to many new phone models that include all Google’s Pixel phones, Samsung flagship models, OnePlus 5 and many other Oreo devices.

The new and better ARCore 1.0 has come up with many new features including support for docking virtual objects on any textured flat as well as the horizontal surface. Google is working on this augmented reality system since August 2017 with the Google Lens project shortly after in October.

Google lens being a “camera in” system, helps the user in sensing visual world, and ARCore is a “camera out” that enables the user to see the world in a new and peculiar way through the phone.

If compared to the Apple’s ARKit, Google has done a pretty good job and made their augmented reality system more flexible by providing the ability to project digital models onto a much larger surface as compared to ARKit. Apart from that, Google’s ARCore 1.0 will soon be adding “improved environmental understanding” that will enable the users to place virtual objects on any surface.

This newer update for the ARCore 1.0 is beneficial for all the developers and will allow them to publish augmented reality related applications to the play store. That way, Google is not only making their AR System better, but also encouraging developers to develop all new apps based on their augmented reality platform.

To counter Apple, Google is partnering with a bunch of new developers along with the furniture company Otto and China’s leading e-commerce company JD.com, which will let it’s users preview rooms, furniture and other products and get a showroom like an experience while sitting at home.

Also, Google wants other companies as well to provide a virtual experience to their users by integrating their ARCore and Lens AR System within their app ecosystem.

Google holds an exciting future in the world of Augmented reality with their ARCore System and Lens that continue to get better with every update along with new and advanced features. With such a pace, we definitely, sooner or later, will be able to try out these new offerings and know what’s this heat is all about!
