If you are an Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality enthusiast who likes creating 3D apps and 3D experiences, Amazon Sumerian has a massive surprise in store for you! You might be an amateur, and the world of virtual reality might have taken your fancy, but guess what? You can still run and create your own virtual experience using Amazon Sumerian without requiring any prior expertise in 3D graphics or programming.
Amazon Sumerian is already popular the world over for its unparalleled ease-of-use, but now, it has taken things one step further by introducing a competition named Hackathon with a total prize money of more than a whopping $100,000. Although this competition is merely a marketing gimmick to promote the platform and encourage users to get on to it without further delay, the prize money is a bonus for people to participate in the competition.
So, what is this competition about? In order to compete in it, participants are required to create their own personalized app and publish it using Amazon Sumerian. Thereafter, they must hand in a demo video in addition to the app URL and a filled in entry form. Once these prerequisites are taken care of, the participants will be considered as active competitors of this challenge.
Not just this but the participants can also access a plethora of training materials and tutorials that will equip them with creating their impressive 3D apps. This support can be accessed through the vast Slack community and varied webinars hosted by Amazon Sumerian. You can even get a deep insight and knowledge into app building from experts that are integrated with AWS services. This will significantly aid you in your app-building process.
The various categories for the awards will be Best Apps in VR, AR, and 3D apps as well as the most efficient use of Sumerian Host. And the prize does not end at $100,000! You can even stand to win an additional $250 AWS Credits if you are one of the first 100 submissions that are eligible to get into the challenge.
If you are as intrigued by the challenge as we were, you can submit your forms and the other requirements by 8th January 2019.
