According to a recent revelation by Accenture, it has now designed and developed a Virtual Reality game for amputees that is based on the SAP Cloud Platform. This one-of-a-kind VR game uses Virtual Reality and SAP Leonardo technologies to aid amputees in tackling the grave problem of phantom limb pain.

As shared by Daniel Gonzalez, the Managing Director of Accenture Brazil, “Our application takes intelligent technologies such as the Internet of Things, analytics and virtual reality to create an easy-to-use, cost-effective application rapidly. It captures real-time data for better measurements and personalized therapy plans that can improve physical progress and decrease phantom limb pain for people with amputations.”

The Brazilian Accenture Liquid Studio that is meant for SAP Leonardo utilizes an armband that is fully equipped with the technologies of SAP Leonardo and Virtual Reality dashboards. This gamification platform not only provides an option for the amputees to enjoy the gaming world of virtual reality but also helps them deal with the challenges that come with losing a limb, the most important of which is the phantom limb pain. Thanks to this gaming platform, amputees now have an added motivation to put on those prosthetics and engage in physical therapy that can otherwise be tedious and painful. And the highlight is that the dashboard allows the physical therapists to be able to diagnose the exact treatment of phantom limb pain and therefore, come up with accurate solutions to detect, measure and analyze the presence of electrical signals in the muscles of patients.

Accenture is popular worldwide as a professional services company that offers a wide range of services and solutions in technology and consulting, strategy, digital, and operations. It brings together consummate skills and vast experience to business functions in order to optimize performance and create sustainable value. This development by Accenture is no different.

Phantom Limb pain is a serious condition that not just debilitates the body of a patient but also his/her mind significantly. Thanks to Accenture, amputees can now avail of low-cost and viable options to continue with their physical therapy and recovery to assist in their rehabilitation.
